Ms. Northrup, an Associate of Science Degree holder in Nursing from Eastern Kentucky University.

She has started her career as a Medical/ Surgical Staff Nurse at Central Baptist Hospital in 1986 and has worked for Intracorp thereafter, as a Supervisor and a Rehabilitation Specialist. She then moved to work at the State of Colorado, Division of Workers' Compensation (DWC) where she worked as a Medical Policy Unit Workers' Compensation Specialist. Hence, her 27 Years of Coding and Auditing experience. During her stay at DWC, she worked closely with DWC Division director as an advisor on worker's compensation and Medical related legislation. She was also able to manage professional supervisors and their staff at DWC. While at DWC, she has numerously presented to the public with reference to Workers' Compensation Medical Policy or Medical Cost Containment Programs. 

In 2018, Ms. Northrup joined Eagle Health –Contractor to Defense Health Agency (DHA) as a Health Economic Analyst II. In all these companies she has worked at, she has highly demonstrated her expertise in Health Care Billing, Financing, and changes in the health care system.

Her certifications include: Certified Professional Coder, Certified Evaluation and Management Auditor, Certified Professional Medical Auditor, and Certified Documentation Expert Outpatient

Ms. Northrup is currently a member of the American Academy of Professional Coders, Denver chapter, National Managed Care Regulators Association, Professionals in Workers' Compensation Association. Aside from her current committee memberships, she is also a National Alliance Medical Auditing Specialist.

She is currently a Medical Bill Review Manager at CorVel Corporation.
